Motorcycle Accidents on New Jersey Parkways
Motorcycle crashes on high-speed roads like the Garden State Pkwy often result in serious injuries. Riders are exposed to greater risks than drivers in cars, especially when collisions happen in heavy traffic or at highway speeds.
In New Jersey, motorcycle accidents account for hundreds of serious injuries and fatalities each year. Riders face a higher chance of being thrown from their bikes or suffering traumatic injuries in crashes. Here are some common causes of these accidents:
- Driver Inattention: Motorists may not see motorcycles in their blind spots or while changing lanes.
- Speeding: High speeds reduce reaction time and increase the force of impact.
- Lane Merging: Sudden merges or lane changes often contribute to crashes involving motorcycles.
- Following Too Closely: Tailgating a motorcycle can lead to a rear-end collision with severe consequences.
- Debris or Hazards: Even small road hazards can cause a motorcycle to crash or slide out.
Injured riders often face long recoveries, mounting medical bills, and time away from work. If another driver was at fault, a motorcycle accident attorney can help pursue compensation for hospital expenses, lost income, and pain and suffering.
