Motorcycle Accidents in New Jersey
Motorcycle accidents can have devastating consequences due to the lack of protection riders have compared to passengers in vehicles. New Jersey, with its busy roads and highways, sees several motorcycle accidents each year. These crashes can often result in serious injury or fatalities, as motorcyclists are more vulnerable to the force of impact in collisions.
Common causes of motorcycle accidents include:
- Inattention: Other drivers may fail to notice motorcyclists, particularly in blind spots or when making turns.
- Speeding: Excessive speed reduces reaction time and increases the severity of accidents.
- Road Hazards: Potholes, debris, and wet surfaces can be dangerous for motorcyclists who have less control in such conditions.
- Driver Error: Motorcyclists may misjudge distances or take turns too quickly.
When someone dies in a motorcycle crash, their family can face immense emotional and financial burdens. In cases where the crash was caused by the negligence of another driver, the family may have grounds for a wrongful death claim. A wrongful death claim can help recover costs related to funeral expenses, medical bills, and other damages caused by the loss of a loved one.
