Edison Township Police are still investigating the cause of the crash, and the district is awaiting the final police report.

We wish the injured students a full and speedy recovery.

School Bus Accidents in New JerseySix Students Injured in School Bus Crash After Driver Suffers Medical Episode

School bus accidents are a serious concern across New Jersey. While buses are generally regarded as one of the safest forms of transportation for children, the risk of injury still exists when unexpected circumstances occur, such as medical episodes or traffic accidents.

School buses are large, heavy vehicles, and even a minor crash can result in significant consequences, especially when children are involved. When school bus accidents occur, injured students or their families often face several challenges, including medical bills, physical therapy, and psychological support.

Common injuries that occur in school bus accidents include:

  • Whiplash or neck injuries
  • Fractures or broken bones
  • Head trauma or concussions
  • Emotional distress or PTSD from the trauma of the accident

In cases where children are injured, parents may want to consult with a school bus accident lawyer to understand their legal options. A lawyer can help families navigate the process of seeking compensation for medical expenses, pain and suffering, and other damages.

In addition to seeking compensation from the responsible driver’s insurance, parents may also explore claims under the school district’s liability coverage, especially if negligence played a role.
