Pedestrian Accidents in New Jersey

Pedestrian accidents in New Jersey are unfortunately common in high-traffic areas like Fort Lee. Intersections such as Lemoine Avenue and Main Street see a steady flow of vehicles and foot traffic, which can increase the risk of serious collisions. When a pedestrian is struck by a vehicle, the injuries are often severe because there is little protection from the impact.

Some of the most frequent injuries in pedestrian crashes include traumatic brain injuries and concussions, broken bones and fractures, internal bleeding and organ damage, as well as spinal cord injuries that may lead to paralysis.

Victims of these accidents face long recovery periods, multiple surgeries, and extensive rehabilitation. Beyond the physical toll, families often face emotional stress and financial strain. Hospital bills, time away from work, and the need for ongoing medical care can quickly overwhelm victims and their loved ones.

This is where working with a pedestrian accident attorney can make a critical difference. A knowledgeable lawyer can:

  • Investigate the accident thoroughly and gather evidence
  • Identify responsible parties and hold them accountable
  • Work with medical professionals to assess the full extent of injuries
  • Negotiate with insurance companies to secure fair compensation

Victims may be entitled to recover damages for medical expenses, lost income, property damage, pain and suffering, and long-term care needs. In cases where negligence contributed to the accident, legal representation ensures that victims and their families are not left to bear the financial burden alone.
