Manchester, NJ – One Hospitalized After Motorcycle Accident on Rt 70 near Ridgeway Rd
Manchester, NJ (July 27, 2023) – A Brick Township man was sent to the hospital early Thursday after a collision that happened involving a motorcycle and a vehicle. The man was riding a motorcycle when he crashed with a minivan on Route 70, according to Manchester police.
He was identified as Geoffrey Hawkins, 54. He suffered several injuries, including a head injury in the accident that happened shortly after 2:00 a.m. on Route 70 near Ridgeway Road.
The person who was driving the minivan refused medical care at the scene. Hawkins was transported by ambulance to Community Medical Center in Toms River by Manchester Township EMS.
Route 70 was closed in both directions for approximately two hours while police investigated and worked to clear the roadway. Both vehicles were towed from the area, sources said.
Authorities in Manchester continue to investigate the circumstances of the accident.
