Greenlawn, NY (May 27, 2026) – On Tuesday afternoon, May 26, a Subaru struck a bicycle that was being ridden by a 75-year-old bicyclist. The collision happened on Butterfield Drive and Pulaski Road in Greenlawn, and left the rider seriously hurt.
Suffolk County police attended the scene at approximately 1 p.m. They took the bicyclist to Stony Brook University Hospital in serious but non-life-threatening condition. His identity is being withheld pending notification of his next of kin.
The driver of the Subaru, Bryan Maldonado-Acosta, 22, of Huntington Station, was identified by police following the wreck. Detectives are continuing to investigate the accident.
