New York Train Collisions
New York City’s mass transit system helps more than two million people get around every day, and more than 700 million annually. Most people who reside in New York, as well as numerous tourists, depend upon the trains and subways to get them from point A to point B. Generally speaking, mass transportation in New York and elsewhere is usually a safe way to get around. However, this does not mean that it is safe 100% of the time.
Accidents involving busts, subways, and trains in New York City can end in severe or even deadly injuries. Those who are victimized in these crashes may suffer broken bones, back or neck injuries, or head trauma. Collisions involving mass transit vehicles can end in life-altering injuries that negatively affect the lives of everyone involved.
Determining how a mass transportation collision takes place is often the first step for victims who are seeking compensation. Oftentimes, municipal transportation authorities were aware of, or should have been aware of potential dangers, however, they ignored them, leading to a crash that was preventable. Injured victims may have a claim against transportation officials or governmental units if they were involved in a crash involving a mass transit vehicle.
