Drunk Driving Accidents in New Jersey

Drunk driving remains one of the leading causes of serious and fatal crashes in New Jersey. A collision involving five vehicles, like the one at Route 34 and Main Street, shows how quickly impaired driving can put multiple lives at risk. When a driver gets behind the wheel while intoxicated, the consequences often include catastrophic injuries, emotional trauma, and lasting financial burdens for victims.

Victims of drunk driving accidents may face extensive hospital care, surgeries, and long-term rehabilitation. The costs can pile up quickly, leaving families struggling to pay medical bills while dealing with time away from work. Beyond physical harm, victims also endure emotional distress and disruption to their daily lives.

An experienced New Jersey drunk driving accident attorney can help victims and families pursue compensation for damages such as:

  • Medical expenses – Emergency treatment, surgeries, and ongoing rehabilitation can be covered. These costs often make up the largest portion of a victim’s financial burden after a crash.
  • Lost wages – Victims may recover income lost while healing from injuries. This also includes future earning potential if the injuries prevent returning to the same job.
  • Pain and suffering – Compensation can address the physical pain and emotional trauma caused by the crash. These damages also reflect the long-term impact on quality of life.
  • Property damage – Victims can seek coverage for repairs or replacement of damaged vehicles. Compensation may also include the cost of personal items lost in the crash.
  • Future care costs – In severe cases, long-term medical needs and rehabilitation may also be compensated. This can include in-home care, specialized equipment, or ongoing therapy.
