West Orange, NJ – Joan Butler, 88, Killed in Fatal Accident on Garden State Pkwy

West Orange, NJ (December 12, 2022) – A crash happened in West Orange that took the life of one person last weekend. On Saturday, December 10, at around 10:44 a.m., emergency crews were sent to the scene of an accident in Aberdeen Township. 

Sources say the incident occurred on the Garden State Parkway when Joan Butler, age 88, was severely injured in a collision. He was transported to Bayshore Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased a short time later. 

The details of the accident are still being investigated by police in West Orange. Reports show that Butler attempted to cross the highway in a Ford passenger vehicle when he was struck by a Lexus NX. 

The Lexus driver, identified as a 49-year-old man from Middlesex, sustained minor injuries in the accident. No further information has been reported at this time.
