North Arlington, NJ (May 30, 2025) – A multi-vehicle crash that unfolded Wednesday evening on Ridge Road sent at least one person to the hospital and left a trail of damage and questions still being investigated by local police.
Just before 5:30 p.m. on May 28, emergency crews rushed to the area near 129 Ridge Road following reports of a serious accident. Upon arrival, first responders discovered three vehicles involved, one of which had flipped over, trapping a female occupant inside.
Firefighters and medical personnel worked swiftly to free the woman from the overturned vehicle. After being safely removed, she was evaluated at the scene and then transported to a nearby hospital. Authorities noted that her injuries, while requiring medical attention, were not considered life-threatening.
Officers with the North Arlington Police Department remained at the site into the evening, documenting the scene and speaking with those involved to determine how the crash occurred. The intersection was temporarily closed to allow cleanup and investigation, causing delays in the area. As of now, the precise cause of the crash remains under investigation. Updates are expected as police continue to review evidence and witness statements.
We hope those injured in this crash recover rapidly.
Car Accidents in New Jersey

While recovering from a collision can be overwhelming, understanding some of the most common injuries can help you prepare for the road ahead:
- Whiplash and Neck Injuries: Common in rear-end collisions, these injuries occur when the neck jerks suddenly due to force. Symptoms may not appear immediately, making it important to get checked after any crash.
- Head Trauma: Even with airbags, drivers and passengers can suffer concussions or more serious brain injuries. Monitoring for headaches, dizziness, or confusion is key after a crash.
- Fractures and Broken Bones: High-impact accidents often lead to broken bones, especially in the arms, legs, and ribs. These injuries usually require extended healing time and can sometimes result in surgery.
- Internal Injuries: Some injuries, like internal bleeding or organ damage, may not show outward signs but can be life-threatening. Emergency medical evaluation is crucial.
- Psychological Effects: Emotional trauma, including anxiety or post-traumatic stress, is not uncommon after a serious crash. Seeking mental health support is just as important as physical care.
