Syracuse, NY (November 29, 2022) – An 11-year-old child lost their life in a car crash on a roadway in Brookfield, Syracuse, on the evening of November 28. New York State Police report the accident happened shortly before 6:00 p.m. in Madison County.
Authorities arrived at the scene of the two-vehicle collision at around 5:51 p.m. Monday to find a 2003 Subaru Forester that had been involved in a crash with a 2001 Ford Flatbed tow truck. Investigations found that the Subaru was headed south on Route 8 when it struck the flatbed truck. There was a vehicle on the flatbed at the time of the collision, reports said.
The flatbed had been partially parked on the roadway with all of its lights on when it was struck by the Subaru. State Police report that after the crash, an 11-year-old passenger of the Subaru was ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced deceased on-site shortly after paramedics arrived.
A 9-year-old passenger and the driver of the Subaru sustained no injuries. The unlicensed driver of the Subaru was evaluated at the scene. Authorities continue to investigate the details of the accident.
We would like to offer our sincere condolences to the family of the deceased victim at this time.
