N Bergen, NJ - Five Injured in Truck Crash on Tonnelle Ave

North Bergen, NJ (January 17, 2025) – A serious truck crash occurred on January 17 when a dump truck lost control while descending a steep hill on 71st Street. The truck crossed into southbound Tonnelle Avenue, collided with a tractor-trailer, and crashed into the sidewall of a Target store at around 2:30 p.m.

The driver of the dump truck, who was hauling rocks and dirt, reportedly lost control due to a brake failure. The crash caused significant damage to the Target store, with a large hole in the wall and flooding inside from broken pipes. Five individuals were injured in the incident, including a woman extricated from the store’s bathroom and the dump truck driver, who suffered minor injuries. All injured parties were transported to local hospitals.
