Parsippany, NJ (September 25, 2025) – A 12-year-old boy is recovering in serious condition after being struck by a car while riding his electric scooter on Wednesday morning, September 23.
The collision happened around 7:15 a.m. near the intersection of Halsey Road and Quaker Road. The Parsippany Police Department reported that the boy was riding westbound on Halsey Road. A 2014 Subaru Impreza then struck him.
The child wore a helmet at the time of the crash but still suffered serious injuries. Emergency responders transported him to Morristown Medical Center for treatment. Officials confirmed the Subaru’s driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Authorities added that speed was not a factor.
Police temporarily closed Halsey Road between Quaker Road and Ludlow Road while they investigated.
Police continue to investigate the crash and its circumstances.
We extend our best wishes to the young victim for a full and swift recovery.
Scooter Accidents in New Jersey

Scooter accidents involving children on scooters, e-bikes, and bicycles are an increasing concern in New Jersey neighborhoods. Kids often ride to school, parks, or friends’ homes, and despite helmets and safety measures, they remain vulnerable in traffic. When a car collides with a child, the injuries can be devastating.
Families often face overwhelming medical bills, long recoveries, and emotional stress after such an incident. A skilled personal injury lawyer can help families pursue compensation that addresses these challenges, including:
- Medical expenses – Hospital stays, surgeries, physical therapy, and follow-up appointments add up quickly. Parents may face thousands of dollars in bills after only a short hospital visit. Compensation can relieve that burden and ensure a child gets the best possible care.
- Future treatment needs – Children often need ongoing care after a serious crash. Rehabilitation, counseling, or additional surgeries may be required months or even years later. Families can seek compensation for these long-term costs.
- Emotional suffering – Beyond physical pain, children may struggle with fear, anxiety, or trauma after an accident. Families also endure stress and heartbreak. Legal claims can recognize these emotional hardships and provide resources for recovery.
- Lost wages for parents – Caring for an injured child often means parents must miss work. This loss of income can worsen the financial strain. Compensation can cover missed paychecks so families can focus on their child’s healing.
Every accident involving a child leaves lasting effects. Addressing both the immediate and long-term impacts is vital to helping families recover.
