Multi-Vehicle Accidents in New Jersey
4-Vehicle Crash with Injuries on Pulaski Skwy NB

The Pulaski Skyway serves as one of the busiest roadways in northern New Jersey, carrying thousands of vehicles each day. With heavy commuter traffic heading toward the Lincoln Tunnel, multi-vehicle collisions are not uncommon.

Several factors can contribute to crashes like the recent four-car collision in Jersey City:

  • Drivers follow too closely in heavy traffic, leaving no room to stop safely. When one vehicle brakes suddenly, tailgating often triggers chain-reaction crashes involving multiple cars.
  • Excessive speed on elevated or narrow stretches of the Skyway. Speeding drivers have less time to react, and tight lanes make it difficult to avoid collisions.
  • Distracted driving, including cellphone use or inattention to the road. Even a few seconds of looking away can cause drivers to miss slowing traffic or obstacles ahead.
  • Sudden lane changes or merging without signaling. These unexpected maneuvers can force other drivers to brake or swerve, often leading to multi-car pileups.
  • Poor weather conditions, such as rain or fog, that reduce visibility and traction. Slippery roads and limited sightlines increase the likelihood of losing control and colliding with other vehicles.

When multiple vehicles collide, the risk of serious injuries rises. Chain-reaction crashes often result in significant damage, medical emergencies, and traffic disruptions that affect entire communities.

Beyond the immediate injuries, multi-car collisions can disrupt lives for months or even years. Many victims must undergo lengthy rehabilitation, adjust to reduced mobility, or cope with long-term pain that impacts their quality of life. These ripple effects highlight why securing proper medical treatment and strong legal representation is so critical after such crashes.

That is why it is important to have an experienced car accident attorney to guide you through the aftermath. A skilled lawyer can identify what caused the crash, hold negligent drivers accountable, and fight for fair compensation.
