Trenton, NJ (July 8, 2025) – A two-vehicle collision claimed the life of a woman and left two men injured over the weekend in Trenton. On Saturday, July 5, a 22-year-old man driving a black BMW was heading east on South Broad Street, crossing from Trenton into Hamilton Township just before 12:30 p.m. As he approached the intersection at Lalor Street, a 51-year-old man driving a silver Toyota Tacoma turned left onto Lalor from the westbound side of South Broad Street, causing a violent collision.
The impact forced the Tacoma to overturn and ejected a 51-year-old woman who was a passenger in the truck. After the crash, the vehicle caught fire as both the BMW and Tacoma came to rest on the lawn of a church along the 1500 block of South Broad Street. First responders quickly arrived and rushed the woman to Capital Health Regional Medical Center, but sadly, she was later pronounced dead.
Officials have not yet released her identity as they notify her family. Both drivers suffered injuries in the crash and were transported to local hospitals for further care. Authorities are investigating the circumstances of the wreck and will release more details as they become available.
We offer our sympathies to the family of the woman who lost her life in this crash. We also hope the injured victims recover quickly.
Car Accidents in New Jersey

These incidents leave people asking how they happen and what can be done to protect themselves. Below are some common causes of collisions that everyone should be aware of:
- Reckless Driving: Aggressive maneuvers like tailgating, weaving through traffic, or ignoring traffic signals put everyone at risk. Drivers who don’t respect the rules of the road often create dangerous situations that end in serious wrecks. Practicing patience can save lives.
- Driver Fatigue: Drowsy driving is just as hazardous as driving drunk. Long shifts, overnight drives, or inadequate sleep can slow reaction times and cloud judgment. Getting enough rest before getting behind the wheel is essential for everyone’s safety.
- Vehicle Maintenance Issues: Poorly maintained brakes, worn tires, or broken lights can lead to accidents, even if the driver is careful. Routine inspections and timely repairs help ensure a vehicle is safe to drive in all conditions.
- Failure to Yield: Intersections are a common site for crashes when drivers fail to yield the right of way. Whether it’s turning left or merging into traffic, understanding and following yielding rules can prevent collisions and save lives.
