Bergen Co., NJ – Fatal Crash on New Jersey Turnpike, Rte 4
Bergen County, NJ (October 1, 2024) – A tragic accident occurred on the New Jersey Turnpike northbound express lanes in Bergen County on the evening of September 29. Around 10:00 p.m., emergency services responded to a fatal crash just before the Route 4 overpass involving a 4-door sedan and a tractor-trailer. According to reports, the sedan rear-ended the tractor-trailer, causing severe damage to the vehicle. Emergency responders extricated a child and an adult from the rear of the sedan, while one individual was pronounced dead at the scene.
Medical examiners arrived shortly after and were seen removing the deceased victim from the crash site. The authorities have not yet released the identities of those involved, and the investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
