Boston, NY – SUV Driver Killed in Collision on Brown Hill Rd

Boston, NY (November 21, 2025) – A tragic crash on Wednesday, November 19, claimed the life of a Springville woman on Brown Hill Road in the Town of Boston. The fatal collision occurred around 3:30 p.m., according to the New York State Police.

Investigators say the crash happened when an SUV pulled out of a driveway on Brown Hill Road and collided with a pickup truck. The pickup struck the driver’s side of the SUV with significant force. The driver of the SUV, 75-year-old Mary E. Meyer of Springville, suffered fatal injuries in the crash. First responders pronounced her dead at the scene.

Troopers requested support from the NYSP Collision Reconstruction Unit and the Bureau of Criminal Investigation. Both teams assisted with documenting the scene, collecting evidence, and reviewing the events that led to the deadly impact.

Officials have not released additional details as they continue their investigation into the crash.

We extend our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of Mary Meyer during this heartbreaking time.

Fatal Crashes in New YorkSUV Driver Killed in Collision on Brown Hill Rd

Fatal crashes like the recent one highlight the dangers many New York drivers face every day. Even a routine turn out of a driveway can become deadly when another vehicle approaches faster than expected or visibility is limited. When a pickup truck collides with a smaller SUV, the force often causes life-threatening injuries, especially to elderly drivers.

Families left behind after a fatal car accident face sudden grief, financial strain, and emotional trauma. These losses can affect every part of life, from daily responsibilities to long-term financial stability. In these situations, many families seek guidance from a wrongful death attorney to help them understand what happened and what steps they may take to protect their future.

Wrongful death crashes often leave families dealing with:

  • Funeral and burial expenses, which can be overwhelming during a time of grief. These costs often arise quickly and without warning.
  • Loss of income or household support, especially when a victim provided financial help, caregiving, or essential daily assistance.
  • Medical bills, if emergency services attempted lifesaving efforts before the victim passed.
  • Emotional suffering, including grief, loss of companionship, and the emotional impact of losing a loved one suddenly.
  • Unexpected lifestyle changes, such as taking on new responsibilities or facing long-term financial uncertainty.

Traffic patterns in New York vary from rural roads to high-speed highways, and many local drivers travel busy routes daily. Limited shoulders, narrow lanes, driveways close to the roadway, and seasonal weather can make these rural roads more dangerous. When crashes happen, law enforcement relies on collision reconstruction teams to review skid marks, impact damage, and roadway conditions to understand the cause.

Families who lose a loved one in preventable crashes often need support to pursue compensation and hold negligent drivers accountable. Legal guidance helps families understand insurance claims, negotiate settlements, and protect their rights during a painful and confusing process.
