Bronx, NY – Pedestrian Killed in Train Crash at 3 Av-149 St
Bronx, NY (November 20, 2024) – A fatal pedestrian crash occurred early this morning at the 3 Av-149 St subway station when a man was struck by a southbound (2) train. Authorities confirmed the individual was pronounced dead at the scene around 6:30 a.m.
The man was initially reported in the mezzanine before jumping onto the tracks. Emergency responders quickly arrived, cutting power to the tracks for rescue efforts, but the individual was found under the train and could not be saved.
The Fire Department and EMS were on the scene, and operations were concluded by 6:32 a.m. The incident is under investigation, though no foul play is suspected.
