Burlington County, NJ – One Killed in Fatal Crash on NJ Tpke
Burlington County, NJ (February 19, 2024) – Police in New Jersey are currently investigating a fatal car crash that occurred in Burlington County. Early on Sunday, February 18, emergency crews were sent to the scene of the incident on the New Jersey Turnpike near mile marker 54.4. Upon arrival at the crash site, at around 4:40 a.m., police found a truck completely engulfed in flames due to a serious accident. While attempting to extinguish the flames, EMS crews found at least one person who was pronounced deceased at the crash scene. According to reports, the severity of the fire made it difficult to figure out whether the deceased victim was an occupant of a second vehicle involved in the wreck or if they were extracted from the burning truck. Police continue to investigate the details of the accident.
