Caldwell, NJ – Pedestrian Loses Life in Accident on Bloomfield Ave

Caldwell, NJ (November 30, 2023) – A vehicle struck and killed a pedestrian identified as Gregory Katz in Caldwell on Sunday evening, November 26. The pedestrian, age 68, was struck in the 300 block of Bloomfield Avenue at around 6:33 p.m. Police and paramedics promptly responded to the scene to render emergency medical aid and transport the injured pedestrian to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson. Sadly, the victim was pronounced deceased at around 7:25 p.m. The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene and cooperated with authorities, according to reports. The Essex County Prosecutor’s Crime Scene Investigations Bureau is currently investigating the deadly accident.
