Camden County, NJ – I-295 Crash Results in Death near milepost 30.5
Camden County, NJ (April 20, 2023) – A 52-year-old driver lost their life in a crash in Camden County on the afternoon of April 17. At approximately 2:07 p.m., emergency crews were dispatched to the crash scene to help those involved.
Reports show the incident happened in the northbound lanes of Interstate 295 near milepost 30.5 in Lawnside Borough. State police say a Ford F-150 was heading north in the center lane of the interstate when it side-swiped a Subaru Forester headed north in the right lane.
After the crash, the Ford struck the left guardrail and overturned on the driver’s side before coming to rest in the center lane. The Subaru rotated clockwise and stopped facing south on the right shoulder of the interstate.
The Ford driver was fatally injured in the crash. The driver of the Subaru was not hurt. The northbound lanes of I-295 were closed for approximately five hours while crews worked at the scene.
Significant delays in traffic resulted from the crash scene. Authorities in Camden County continue to investigate.
