Springfield, NJ – One Killed in Fiery Collision with Dump Truck on I-78
Springfield, NJ (March 28, 2023) – A fiery collision involving a dump truck turned fatal on an interstate in Springfield. The incident happened at approximately 12:30 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 78.
Responders went to the scene shortly after the crash happened near exit 49B in order to help those involved. One person reportedly lost their life in the accident.
The victim was identified as the driver of a dump truck that collided with a tractor-trailer and a Dodge Ram. The circumstances of the accident remain unknown at this time.
The express lanes of the interstate were closed for an extended period of time on the afternoon of March 28. Crews continue to investigate the details of the incident.
