Carlstadt, NJ (June 9, 2025) – Early Sunday morning, a serious head-on collision took place on Route 17 near Route 120, leaving several people injured and leading to the arrest of one driver.
Authorities responded to the crash around 1:45 a.m. on June 8 after receiving calls about a multi-vehicle accident involving a wrong-way driver. When emergency crews arrived at the scene, they found multiple vehicles with significant damage scattered across the roadway. Paramedics treated at least a few individuals for injuries; fortunately, none were deemed life-threatening, and the victims were transported to nearby hospitals for further medical attention.
Investigators with the Carlstadt Police Department later determined that a woman was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of Route 17 at the time of the accident.
