East Brunswick Twp, NJ – Two-Vehicle Crash with Injuries on Trnpk Exit to Rte 18
East Brunswick Twp, NJ (May 8, 2025) – A two-vehicle crash resulting in injuries occurred Thursday morning on the northbound exit ramp from the New Jersey Turnpike to NJ Rte 18 in East Brunswick Township. Emergency responders arrived at the scene shortly after 9:20 a.m. following reports of a serious collision that temporarily blocked part of the ramp.
According to initial reports, two vehicles collided on the ramp, leading to one of the cars being heavily damaged and briefly obstructing traffic flow. East Brunswick Police and New Jersey State Troopers responded to the scene and controlled the area while East Brunswick Fire Department personnel worked to extract one of the drivers from a damaged vehicle.
Paramedics from local EMS units transported at least one injured individual to a nearby hospital for treatment. The extent of the injuries has not yet been confirmed, but authorities indicated the crash involved moderate trauma.
Traffic on the exit ramp was partially blocked for an extended period as crews cleared debris and ensured the roadway was safe for reopening. By late morning, all lanes and both shoulders were reopened to traffic.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation by the New Jersey State Police. No charges have been reported at this time.
