Pedestrian Accidents in New JerseyPedestrian Fatally Struck While Crossing Rte 33 in Twin Rivers Neighborhood

When a pedestrian loses their life in a traffic accident, surviving family members often face not only emotional devastation but also serious financial burdens. In New Jersey, families have the right to pursue a wrongful death claim when another party’s negligence leads to the loss of a loved one.

A wrongful death lawsuit can help ease the financial strain by recovering compensation for:

  • Medical expenses related to emergency care, transport, and hospitalization prior to death.
  • Funeral and burial costs, which can be a major financial burden after an unexpected tragedy.
  • Loss of income or future earnings, especially if the deceased contributed to the household’s financial stability.
  • Loss of companionship, guidance, and emotional support, which recognizes the immeasurable personal impact of the loss.
  • Pain and suffering, including the physical and emotional trauma the deceased endured before passing.

Each case is unique, and calculating damages requires a careful understanding of the victim’s role in the family, the extent of financial loss, and the circumstances of the crash. Working with an experienced wrongful death attorney can ensure that every detail is reviewed and that families receive fair and full compensation for their loss.
