Elizabeth, NJ (March 14, 2025) – A two-car crash occurred on March 14 on the New Jersey Turnpike Outer Roadway southbound, north of Interchange 13, near the I-278/Goethals Bridge in Elizabeth. The incident, which resulted in injuries, was reported by the New Jersey State Police around 3:30 p.m.
According to authorities, a sedan collided with an SUV when one of the vehicles attempted to change lanes at high speed. The impact caused both vehicles to come to a stop on the right shoulder of the road. Emergency services were quickly dispatched to the scene, including ambulances and fire trucks, which assisted in extracting the occupants from the wreckage.
One individual sustained serious injuries and was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital for treatment. No fatalities were reported. The fire department worked diligently to clear the scene, ensuring that the vehicles were moved off the roadway to avoid further traffic congestion.
