Trenton, NJ (June 2, 2026) – Four workers ended up injured on Sunday, May 31, after a video board fell while they were removing it after an event at CURE Insurance Arena in Trenton, New Jersey.
The board came down while crew members were taking it down after the event wrapped on Hamilton Avenue, the CURE Insurance Arena. All four were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment and later released.
According to the arena’s management company, Oak View Group, the video board belonged to a third-party production company. No names or ages of those hurt were included in the initial report on the accident.
Investigators are working to establish what caused the board to fall.
We wish all four workers a full and speedy recovery.
What Should Injured Workers Know About Workplace Accident Claims in Trenton, NJ?
Workers hurt on the job in Trenton may be entitled to more than workers’ compensation benefits, particularly when a third party’s equipment or negligence played a role. When an injury involves equipment owned by an outside vendor or contractor, the injured worker could have grounds to pursue a separate personal injury claim against that third party. This is true even if workers’ compensation benefits are also being paid.
Workplace injuries at event venues and arenas are not uncommon in Mercer County. High-traffic corridors and commercial districts around downtown Trenton, host frequent large-scale events that require heavy staging, rigging, and production equipment. Load-in and load-out periods are among the most hazardous phases of any event.
Workers in these settings can face serious harm: crush injuries, broken bones, head trauma, and back or spinal damage are all possible when heavy equipment falls. Some of these injuries may not be fully apparent until days after the crash, which makes early medical evaluation and documentation especially important.
A worker’s compensation attorney can help determine whether a third-party claim is available in addition to any workers’ compensation benefits already being received. Legal guidance can clarify what documentation may strengthen a claim and what options may be available afterwards.
