What Evidence Should You Collect After a Pedestrian Crash in Clinton Twp, NJ?
After a pedestrian crash in New Jersey, it can make a huge difference to collect the right evidence as early as possible. If you are physically able, photograph the scene, including skid marks, vehicle positions, road conditions, and any visible injuries. Note the exact location, the direction of travel, and whether any surveillance cameras or highway monitoring equipment may have captured the crash.
Witness information matters too. Anyone nearby who saw what happened should be asked for their name and contact details before they leave. Along the I-78 corridor in Hunterdon County, crashes can draw passersby quickly, but witnesses scatter just as fast.
Medical records are also a critical form of evidence. Seeking treatment immediately creates a documented link between the crash and the injuries. Gaps in medical care can complicate a personal injury claim later, even when the harm is real. Keep records of every appointment, prescription, and out-of-pocket expense related to the injuries.
A pedestrian accident attorney can help identify what additional evidence may be needed and how to preserve it before it is lost.
