Hauppauge, NY – Garbage Truck Crash into School Bus, Cars, Kills One, Injures Two at Express Dr S & Motor Pkwy
Hauppauge, NY (July 3, 2023) – Authorities say that at least one person lost their life, and two others were left injured following a major collision in Hauppauge. The fatal incident involved a garbage truck, a school bus, and three other vehicles on Monday morning, July 3rd.
According to law enforcement, a garbage truck approached the intersection of Express Drive South and Motor Parkway when it lost control and struck a school bus. The impact of the collision caused the involved vehicles to strike three other passenger vehicles, including a Jeep.
Emergency crews were called to the scene, where they pronounced a male occupant of one of the passenger vehicles deceased. Two others who were involved in the collision were transported to a nearby hospital. Their present conditions have not been reported.
No occupants of the school bus sustained any injuries. The events that triggered the crash are being investigated.
