Bicycle Accidents in New Jersey
Bicycle accidents can result in devastating injuries, especially when elderly riders are struck by vehicles. Small communities in New Jersey often have narrow streets and limited visibility, increasing the risk for cyclists sharing the road with motorists. Even at low speeds, the force of impact from a car can cause serious and life-threatening harm to a bicyclist.
Victims of bicycle accidents frequently face long hospital stays, rehabilitation, and months of recovery. Common injuries sustained in these crashes include:
- Traumatic brain injuries or concussions, even when wearing a helmet
- Broken bones, particularly in the arms, legs, or pelvis
- Spinal cord injuries that can lead to partial or full paralysis
- Internal bleeding or organ damage
- Deep lacerations, bruises, and road rash
- Severe soft tissue injuries affecting muscles and ligaments
These injuries often require extensive medical care and can permanently change a person’s ability to live independently. Victims may struggle with pain, reduced mobility, or emotional trauma long after the physical wounds heal.
Working with an experienced personal injury lawyer can help victims and their families understand their rights and pursue the financial recovery they need to rebuild their lives. An attorney can investigate the crash, gather evidence, and hold negligent drivers accountable for the harm they’ve caused.
