Salem, NJ (September 6, 2024) – A tragic accident involving two vehicles resulted in one fatality and injuries on the morning of Thursday, August 5, at the intersection of County Route 604 (CR 604) and County Route 677 (CR 677) in Upper Pittsgrove, a rural township within Salem County. The crash occurred close to midday when a vehicle entering the intersection collided with a westbound pickup truck, leading to devastating consequences.
According to initial reports, the pickup truck overturned upon impact and subsequently caught fire. Tragically, the driver of the truck, identified as 58-year-old William Bedilion, was ejected from the vehicle due to the force of the collision. Emergency responders rushed to the scene, but Bedilion sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead shortly after the accident. Bedilion was a resident of the area, and his untimely death has left the local community grieving.
The driver of the other vehicle, a 44-year-old man from East Windsor, New Jersey, suffered moderate injuries in the crash. Emergency medical services quickly transported him to a nearby hospital for treatment. His current condition has not been disclosed, but his injuries were described as non-life-threatening. No additional injuries were reported, and authorities have not confirmed whether there were passengers in either vehicle. Law enforcement is currently investigating the incident.
