East Windsor, NJ – Susan Dagrosa Killed When Tire Crashes Through Windshield on NJ Tpk
East Windsor, NJ (November 07, 2022) – The New Jersey State Police were dispatched to the scene of a fatal accident in the northbound lanes of the New Jersey Turnpike in Mercer County.
The crash took place at about 4:50 p.m. near mile marker 67.6 in East Windsor.
An investigation determined that the driver of an Acura MDX was heading southbound along the turnpike when the left front tire became separated from the body of the vehicle. The tire flew over the center divider into the northbound lanes of the roadway where it crashed through the windshield of an oncoming Acura RDX, fatally injuring the front-seat passenger.
The victim has been identified as 75-year-old Susan Dagrosa, a resident of Port Jefferson, NY. The driver of the RDX was unharmed during the incident. The conditions of the occupants of the MDX are unknown.
The lefthand lane of the Turnpike was closed down for an accident investigation and Troopers were on the scene inspecting the road for evidence.
The crash is currently under police investigation.
We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased victim, Ms. Susan Dagrosa, at this time.
Wrongful Deaths in New Jersey
Any person responsible for prolonging, causing, or failing to prevent the death of another can be held accountable by way of a personal injury suit. Whether the death occurred due to professional negligence, medical malpractice, or any other form of dereliction of duty, dependents and surviving members of the victim’s family are most likely entitled to compensation.
Wrongful deaths can take place under any set of circumstances, like motor vehicle accidents, slip-and-fall injuries, faulty products, medical negligence, and violent crimes. It is necessary to bear in mind that just because a death is sudden and unexpected, it is not inherently wrongful and does not guarantee a profitable outcome to a lawsuit.
The process by which victims seek compensation for wrongful deaths is both complex and surprisingly tedious, but entirely possible as revealed by the increasing number of successful wrongful death lawsuits being filed each year. If a family member died due to someone else’s negligence, our East Windsor wrongful death lawyers are here to guide you through the legal process of a civil suit.
