Lake George, NY – Multiple Injured in School Bus Crash on Lake Shore Dr & Diamond Point Rd

Lake George, NY (April 20, 2026) – A school bus crash involving Bronx high school students left several people injured on Sunday, April 19, in the Town of Lake George. The accident occurred just before 11 a.m. during a field trip upstate on Lake Shore Drive and Diamond Point Road.

The Warren County Sheriff’s Office reported that the bus was carrying 23 people, including 17 students and six adults, when it failed to stop at an intersection. The vehicle then left the roadway and struck several trees, a nearby vehicle, and a boat before coming to a stop.

Emergency units arrived at the scene and evaluated those involved. Officials confirmed that four passengers suffered minor injuries, while the bus driver sustained more serious injuries and was taken to a hospital. All reported injuries were not considered life-threatening, and those hospitalized were expected to be released later that day.

A witness described the crash as loud and chaotic. Limited cell service in the area made it difficult for students to contact their families at the time.

Authorities have not released the names of the schools involved. Officials later confirmed that all students safely returned home after the incident.

Investigators continue to review the circumstances surrounding the crash.

We extend our thoughts to those injured and wish them a smooth recovery.
