What Evidence Should Be Preserved After a Pedestrian Accident in Trenton, NJ?Pedestrian Struck and Injured on Rte 29

It can play a significant role to preserve evidence after a pedestrian accident in order to understand how the collision occurred and determine liability. Photographs of the crash site, vehicle damage, roadway markings, traffic signals, crosswalks, and visible injuries can all help document conditions at the time of the collision.

Witness information is another key piece of evidence. Contact details and statements from people who saw the collision can help clarify what occurred before, during, and after the impact. Surveillance footage from nearby businesses, traffic cameras, or private security systems can also provide important information, but these recordings are sometimes overwritten or deleted if they are not preserved promptly.

Medical records are equally important. Emergency treatment records, diagnostic tests, physician notes, and documentation of ongoing care can help establish the nature and extent of a person’s injuries. It can also help document losses associated with the accident to keep copies of medical bills, receipts, and records related to missed work.

A pedestrian accident attorney can help identify and preserve relevant evidence before it becomes unavailable. Legal guidance can help injured pedestrians understand what types of compensation could be available based on the facts of each particular case.
