Lakewood, NJ (November 6, 2024) – An injury bicycle crash occurred on the evening of November 5 in Lakewood, leaving a 35-year-old woman critically injured. The incident, which was reported by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, took place around 7:35 p.m. at the intersection of Cross St and Maplehurst Ave.

The car, believed to be a blue or silver Toyota or Lexus SUV, collided with the cyclist, causing her to be thrown onto the road. The SUV, which did not stop after the collision, is suspected to have significant damage to its front end and bumper, as reported by investigators.
Emergency responders quickly arrived and provided aid to the injured woman, who was rushed to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune. Her condition is currently described as critical.
