Linden, NJ (October 8, 2025) – A tragic motorcycle accident claimed the life of a 20-year-old Linden man on Tuesday evening, October 7, after colliding with another vehicle at a busy intersection.
According to Capt. Christopher Guenther of the Linden Police Department, officers responded to the scene shortly before 9 p.m. following reports of a serious crash at the intersection of Cranford Avenue and Dill Avenue.
Investigators determined that a 2024 Kawasaki motorcycle was heading south on Cranford Avenue behind a 2017 Nissan Altima. The crash occurred when the Nissan driver attempted to make a U-turn, resulting in a violent collision between the two vehicles.
Emergency medical crews rushed to the scene and provided immediate aid to the injured motorcyclist. He was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Rahway, where he was later pronounced dead.
Authorities have not yet released the victim’s identity as they continue notifying his family. As of Wednesday morning, no charges had been filed against the Nissan driver. The Linden Police Department’s Traffic Bureau continues to investigate the crash to determine what led to the fatal collision.
Our hearts go out to the victim’s family and friends as they cope with this devastating loss.
Motorcycle Accidents and in New Jersey
Motorcycle accidents in New Jersey often result in catastrophic injuries or fatalities due to the lack of protection riders have compared to drivers in enclosed vehicles. Even when wearing helmets and safety gear, motorcyclists are extremely vulnerable in collisions with cars or trucks.
According to recent state data, motorcycle crashes account for a significant number of roadway fatalities each year. Many of these accidents occur at intersections when drivers fail to see or yield to approaching motorcycles. Sudden turns, lane changes, and distracted driving are among the most common causes.
In fatal motorcycle accidents, families of the deceased may have the right to pursue a wrongful death claim to recover damages for the financial and emotional losses caused by another party’s negligence. While no amount of compensation can replace a loved one, these claims can help families manage expenses and seek justice for their loss.
Through a wrongful death, surviving family members may be eligible to recover compensation for:
- Funeral and burial expenses, helping to ease the immediate financial burden after the loss.
- Medical costs related to emergency care or hospitalization prior to death.
- Loss of financial support and future income the victim would have provided.
- Pain, suffering, and emotional anguish endured by surviving family members.
- Loss of companionship, guidance, and emotional support.
A skilled wrongful death lawyer can help families navigate the complex legal process, investigate the cause of the crash, and hold negligent drivers accountable. Attorneys play a vital role in collecting evidence, consulting accident reconstruction experts, and negotiating with insurance companies to secure fair settlements.
