Middlesex Co, NJ (January 15, 2025) – A fatal car crash occurred on Saturday night in Middlesex County, resulting in the death of a 34-year-old woman and serious injuries to a 23-year-old man. The incident, reported by the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office, took place at approximately 9:55 p.m. near the West Carteret Bridge on Roosevelt Ave.

According to Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Carteret Police Chief Theodore Nycz, the crash involved a collision between an Infiniti and a Toyota Camry. The driver of the Infiniti, Cristina Flores, 34, from Avenel, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Toyota Camry, a 23-year-old man from Carteret, sustained serious injuries and was transported by ambulance to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital for treatment.

Emergency responders, including local firefighters, were on the scene to extract the cars and assist with traffic control. The collision caused significant disruptions to traffic, with Roosevelt Ave closed for several hours while authorities investigated and cleared the wreckage.
