Pedestrian Accident in New York
Pedestrian Injured After Crash Near Queensboro Bridge Exit

Pedestrian accidents in New York City are particularly dangerous because victims have no protection against vehicles. Busy intersections carry heavy traffic, increasing the risk of severe or even life-threatening injuries. Head trauma, like that reported in this incident, can lead to long-term medical needs and financial strain.

When a pedestrian is injured due to a driver’s negligence, they may be entitled to pursue compensation through a personal injury claim. Possible forms of compensation include:

  • Medical expenses – Coverage for emergency treatment, hospital stays, surgeries, medication, and ongoing therapy. These costs often rise quickly after serious accidents.
  • Lost wages – Compensation for time away from work during recovery. In severe cases, victims may also recover damages for reduced earning capacity in the future.
  • Pain and suffering – Acknowledgment of the physical pain, emotional trauma, and reduced quality of life caused by the accident.
  • Rehabilitation costs – Payments for physical therapy, occupational therapy, and long-term care needed to regain mobility and independence.
  • Future medical care – Head and brain injuries often require follow-up appointments, rehabilitation, and sometimes lifelong treatment. Compensation may include anticipated future costs.
  • Loss of enjoyment of life – When injuries prevent victims from participating in activities they once enjoyed, they may be entitled to additional damages.

Because every case is unique, working with an efficient pedestrian accident lawyer ensures victims understand their rights and pursue full compensation. These claims not only provide financial relief but also hold negligent drivers accountable.
