Fatal Car Accidents in NewarkFatal Multi-Vehicle Car Accident on I-78 E Near EWR

Major highways in Newark see heavy traffic at all hours. Interstates handle commercial traffic, airport travelers, and local commuters, which increases the risk of serious crashes. When multiple vehicles collide at highway speeds, the results can be catastrophic.

Across New Jersey, fatal car accidents often involve chain-reaction crashes, nighttime driving, or limited reaction time. Multi-vehicle collisions create added danger due to secondary impacts, vehicle fires, and delayed medical access. Even drivers who follow traffic laws may suffer severe harm when another vehicle loses control.

Fatal crashes can leave families facing sudden emotional and financial challenges, including:

  • Grief and trauma following the unexpected loss of a loved one
  • Funeral and burial expenses that arise without warning
  • Loss of financial support and household income
  • Unanswered questions about responsibility and fault

New Jersey law allows families to pursue wrongful death claims when negligence contributes to a fatal crash. These claims may help recover compensation for funeral costs, medical expenses, and the long-term financial impact of losing a loved one. Each case depends on investigative findings, crash evidence, and applicable state laws.

After a fatal accident, taking timely action is important. Evidence can fade, reports may take weeks to complete, and insurance companies often move quickly to protect their interests. Legal guidance from a wrongful death lawyer can help families understand their options, manage communications, and reduce added stress while they focus on healing.
