Newark, NJ (May 1, 2025) – An injury crash involving two vehicles occurred on Thursday afternoon on the New Jersey Turnpike – Western Spur, just north of Interchange 15E near US 1&9 in Newark. The impact caused significant disruption to northbound traffic until emergency responders cleared the scene and reopened all lanes.
According to preliminary reports, two vehicles collided in the northbound lanes under circumstances that remain under investigation. Emergency responders from the Newark Fire Department and New Jersey State Police were dispatched to the scene shortly after 4:00 p.m. Paramedics provided medical assistance on site before transporting at least one injured individual to a nearby hospital for further evaluation.
