Niagara Falls, NY (August 5, 2024) – The Niagara Falls Police Department is conducting a thorough investigation into a fatal e-bike accident that occurred early on Monday morning, August 5, at the intersection of 22nd Street and Niagara Avenue. A 50-year-old woman was found laying on the roadway with severe injuries after being struck by a vehicle while riding her e-bike.

Officers received a distress call shortly after 1 a.m. reporting a woman injured on the roadway. Upon arrival, they discovered the woman, who had sustained critical injuries from the collision. Despite immediate medical attention and transportation to a nearby hospital’s emergency care unit, the woman succumbed to her injuries. Her identity is being withheld pending family notification.

The incident has raised significant concerns due to the hit-and-run nature of the crash. According to investigators, the vehicle involved fled the scene immediately after the collision, leaving the injured woman without assistance.
