Old Bridge, NJ – Andrea Houlihan Killed, Man Injured in Motorcycle Collision on Rt 9
Old Bridge, NJ (August 16, 2023) – A fatal motorcycle crash happened in Old Bridge on Sunday morning, August 13. At around 11:00 a.m., responders went to the scene of the accident on Route 9.
Sources say the crash took place on Route 9 North near Route 18 North when a GMC SUV was on the exit ramp to Route 18 North. For unknown reasons, it suddenly crossed over the painted median back into Route 9 traffic, causing all vehicles to stop abruptly.
A motorcyclist was unable to stop in time and struck the rear of the SUV, ejecting both the driver and a female passenger from the bike.
The female passenger was identified as 53-year-old Andrea Houlihan. She was pronounced deceased at Hackensack Meridian Hospital Old Bridge a short time after the accident took place. The motorcyclist was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital to be treated for his injuries.
