Owego, NY (June 5, 2026) – A motorcyclist died after being involved in a collision with an SUV early Wednesday morning, June 3, at the intersection of State Route 434 and Forest Hill Road in the Town of Owego.
According to New York State Police, troopers were dispatched to the intersection at approximately 3:52 a.m. after receiving reports of a crash with injuries. Upon arrival, troopers and emergency units began life-saving efforts for the motorcycle rider, but those efforts were unsuccessful.
Authorities later identified the motorcyclist as 39-year-old Warren O. Loza of Vestal. Investigators said a preliminary review indicated that an SUV entered State Route 434 from Forest Hill Road and did not see the approaching motorcycle. The motorcycle then struck the side of the SUV.
The SUV driver cooperated with investigators and was taken to Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City for evaluation and treatment. No information regarding that person’s injuries was released.
State police continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the collision.
