Compensation That Victims Can Recover After a Car Accident in New JerseyTwo Drivers Injured in Crash at Rte 22 & Main St

In New Jersey, people injured in a car accident may be able to seek compensation for medical bills, lost income, and other related costs. The exact type of compensation depends on the severity of injuries and the details of the crash.

New Jersey follows a no-fault insurance system, which means drivers often turn to their own Personal Injury Protection (PIP) coverage first. This coverage can help pay for medical treatment and certain financial losses, regardless of who caused the accident. However, in cases involving serious injuries, a person may have the option to step outside the no-fault system and pursue additional compensation.

Common injuries after a crash can include broken bones, head injuries, and soft tissue damage. Some people may also need ongoing care, physical therapy, or time away from work. Keeping records of medical visits, expenses, and recovery progress can help create a clear picture of the impact of the accident.

A car accident attorney can help review the details of a case and explain what types of compensation may be available. A lawyer can assist with gathering documents, handling insurance communication, and outlining possible legal steps based on New Jersey law.
