Bicycle Accidents in New Jersey

Bicycle accidents often result in devastating consequences, particularly when collisions occur on high-traffic routes. With limited protection, cyclists are vulnerable to severe injuries when struck by vehicles.
According to state data, New Jersey records dozens of fatal bicycle crashes every year, with many more resulting in serious or catastrophic injuries. These accidents are frequently caused by speeding, distracted driving, or drivers failing to yield to cyclists sharing the road.
Drivers play an important role in preventing these tragedies. By slowing down near cyclists, avoiding distractions, and giving riders adequate space on the road, motorists can greatly reduce the risk of collisions. Small changes in driving behavior can make a life-saving difference.
The aftermath of a fatal bicycle crash is overwhelming for families. Survivors may face:
- Medical bills that accumulate from emergency treatment before their loved one passes. These costs add financial strain during an already heartbreaking time.
- Funeral and burial expenses that come unexpectedly and can be difficult to manage. Families often struggle to cover these sudden costs.
- Loss of companionship and support from a loved one who played a vital role in their lives. This emotional toll can linger for years.
- Long-term emotional trauma that impacts children, spouses, and close relatives. Healing from such a sudden loss takes time and professional support.
In these cases, families may seek justice and financial support through a wrongful death claim. Working with a wrongful death attorney ensures loved ones understand their rights and helps hold negligent drivers accountable for their actions.
