Voorhees Twp., NJ – Woman and Dog Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash at Evesham Rd & Alpha Ave

Voorhees Township, NJ (January 20, 2026) – A fatal hit-and-run crash claimed the life of a 75-year-old woman and her dog on Saturday, January 17, in Voorhees Township. The incident occurred around 6:00 p.m. near the intersection of Evesham Road and Alpha Avenue, according to officials.

The woman was walking in the area with her dog when she was struck by a vehicle at the marked crosswalk. Emergency units responded to the scene and found the dog dead at the location of the crash. The woman was taken to a nearby hospital, where she later died from her injuries that evening.

Officials identified the victim as Andrea Wilson, a longtime special education teacher. Authorities said the driver involved initially left the scene after the crash. Investigators later determined the driver returned to the area in a different vehicle sometime afterward.

Police confirmed the driver was charged with second-degree leaving the scene of a fatal motor vehicle accident. The investigation confirmed that Wilson’s injuries proved fatal despite medical treatment. No additional details about the moments leading up to the crash or the vehicle involved have been released at this time.

Authorities continue to review evidence and statements connected to the incident as the case moves forward.

We extend our sincere condolences to the family of the deceased victim during this challenging time.
