Rye Brook, NY (September 9, 2024) – Authorities have arrested a driver in connection with a deadly wrong-way crash that occurred on the Hutchinson River Parkway in Rye Brook on the morning of September 8. Westchester County police confirmed that Jose Espinal, 48, of Bridgeport, Connecticut, has been charged with vehicular manslaughter and driving while intoxicated (DWI) following the tragic collision that claimed the life of another motorist.
The crash was first reported around 5:00 a.m. when multiple 911 calls alerted police to a vehicle heading southbound in the northbound lanes of the parkway. The wrong-way driver, identified as Espinal, crashed head-on into another vehicle about half a mile south of King Street in Rye Brook.
