Staten Island, NY – Goethals Road Scene of Fatal Traffic Collision

Staten Island, NY (March 12, 2024) – A fatal crash happened in Staten Island on Monday, March 12. Police are currently searching for the driver, who reportedly took off on foot after he removed his license plates from his vehicle. The collision occurred at approximately 10:15 p.m. on Goethals Road in the neighborhood of Graniteville. According to information from police, the driver was traveling at unsafe speeds when he lost control of his vehicle and collided with a light pole and a fire hydrant. The front of the vehicle was extremely damaged along with a fence that was nearby. A man, age 26, was ejected from the back of the vehicle before he died of severe injuries at the scene. A 23-year-old man who was in the front seat was transported to the hospital in stable condition. No one involved has been identified at this time.
