Union City, NJ (November 12, 2025) – A tragic pedestrian accident on Wednesday morning, November 12, claimed a man’s life on Route 495 near the Lincoln Tunnel.
According to the Port Authority Police Department, the fatal incident occurred on the westbound side of Route 495 near Kennedy Boulevard in Union City. Authorities said a man was walking along the westbound lanes when a vehicle struck him. Emergency responders arrived quickly, but the man’s injuries were too severe. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Port Authority Police Department closed portions of the roadway to conduct a full investigation. They have not released the identity of the victim or any information about the driver involved.
