West Deptford, NJ – Cassandra Ashmeade Killed, Several Injured in Two-Car Wreck on I-295
West Deptford, NJ (February 2, 2024) – A passenger lost their life and several others sustained injuries when a two-car wreck occurred on an interstate in West Deptford. Reports from local sources show the wreck took place on Thursday night, February 1. A pickup truck and a passenger vehicle were headed north on the road just before 7:00 p.m. near milepost 19.8 when the passenger vehicle rear-ended the pickup truck. The pickup left the roadway as a result, struck a guardrail, and turned over. Cassandra Ashmeade, 38, lost her life when she was ejected from the vehicle. The driver of the pickup truck was identified as a woman from Philadelphia, age 44. She was seriously injured in the accident. Two others sustained minor injuries, police said. All were transported to the hospital to be treated accordingly.
Police in West Deptford are investigating.
